Medvedev warns of nuclear war if his country is defeated in Ukraine

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Thursday (Thursday) that “the defeat of a nuclear power in a conventional war could trigger a nuclear war,” referring to his country’s military campaign in Ukraine, according to Reuters.

In a Telegram post commenting on NATO’s support for the Ukrainian military, Medvedev, an ally of current President Vladimir Putin, wrote: “Nuclear powers never lose in major conflicts on which their fate depends.”

For his part, Putin said on Wednesday that Russia’s mighty military-industrial complex is ramping up its production, adding that it is one of the main reasons his country will secure victory in Ukraine. Putin, speaking to workers at a factory producing air defense systems in St. Petersburg, added that total production of military equipment is increasing even as demand is rising due to what he calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine.

Putin explained: “As far as reaching the final result and the inevitable victory, there are several things… These things are the unity and cohesion of the Russian people with their many nationalities, courage, and heroism of our fighters… and of course, the work that the military-industrial complex and factories like yours and (industrial workers) do”. ) Comets. He added: “Victory is certain, I have no doubts about that.
