According to the report, DJI is just one of many technology companies whose products have been found in use on the battlefield in Ukraine.

It is believed that the Russian military used drones produced by this Chinese company in the war, including the drone (Mavic 3), as well as a special platform for detecting drones that allow users to locate the operator of those drones, and This platform is produced by the same Chinese company.

DJI denied the allegations, insisting that its products are designed for civilian use only and “do not meet military specifications.”

“We certainly don’t support their use in combat,” said Adam Welch, the company’s head of global policy.

DJI has suspended sales of its products to Russia and Ukraine since last April, and this suspension is still in effect.

DJI currently controls more than 70% of the global drone market

According to a specialized report, the market is expected to grow from $30.6 billion in 2022 to $55.8 billion in 2030.

Founded in 2006 in a college dorm room by Frank Wang, the Chinese company began building drone control systems, which were sold to hobbyists building their own drones.

In 2013, the company produced its first ready-to-fly drone, the Phantom 1.

DJI currently employs more than 14,000 employees, more than 25% of whom work in research and development, confirming that the company is focused on innovation.

In December 2021, the US government added the drone maker, as well as several other Chinese companies, to its economic blacklist, which prohibits US investors from buying or selling shares in the company.
