$2.5 million is the price for a “ticket beyond belief” to watch Messi and Ronaldo’s match in Saudi Arabia. What are the benefits of this ticket, which is the most expensive in the history of the sport, and who was its owner?
The “very special” ticket was sold for $2.5 million
Saudi businessman Musharraf Al-Ghamdi has managed to win the auction to secure a ticket “beyond imagination” related to the exhibition match that will bring together Ronaldo and Messi in Riyadh next Thursday (January 18, 2023):
The “very special” ticket was sold for $2.5 million and will allow its owner many privileges, such as taking pictures with the two stars Ronaldo and Messi and other stars, being with the players in the locker room, as well as having dinner with both sides of the match and honor the winner on the field. This match will bring together Saudi stars Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal with French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the General Entertainment Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and owner of the Spanish club Almeria, announced on his Twitter account that all proceeds from the ticket will go to the Ihsan Charity platform.
Ronaldo’s first game for Al-Nasr
Turki Al-Sheikh announced that the request for tickets to watch the match from the stands of the stadium has exceeded two million requests.
This could be the last confrontation between Messi and Ronaldo after the latter advanced to Saudi victory in a record 200 million euro contract. Thursday’s match against Paris Saint-Germain constitutes Ronaldo’s first game for Al-Nasr and also paves the way for his first appearance in the Saudi league, which will be against Al-Ettifaq Club, after missing the first two matches to the suspension.
The Paris Saint-Germain team, with its star Mbappé, will travel first to Qatar, and first, move to Riyadh to play the exhibition match against Ronaldo and his new teammates. The confrontation between Messi and Ronaldo has always seen a large audience, especially when the two stars played for arch-rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid in the Spanish league. Interestingly, Messi is also active in Saudi Arabia as an ambassador for Saudi tourism.
